puffins close upLying on the Arctic Circle, Grímsey Island – home to about 100 people and 1 million seabirds – is Iceland’s most northerly settlement. After a 3-hour ferry crossing from the town of Dalvík, you will have a light lunch before taking a guided walk through the best bird-watching areas and getting the chance to meet the locals and learn about their way of life in this remote outpost. At the end of the tour, you will receive a certificate stating that you have crossed the Arctic Circle.
