Iceland has many scheduled tours, but they don’t suit every traveller. Why not consider making yours a privately driven holiday and see Iceland in the way that suits you better. Maybe there are specific or more unusual places or activities that will be key part of your holiday. You may want to spend more time, or open-ended time somewhere in Iceland, or your children may be adventurous and need to stop regularly to let off steam! It could simply be that driving on holiday is a chore and not an enjoyment, especially for a winter trip.  Iceland is very accessible, so even if your mobility isn’t great, we’d hate you to think that it’s not a country for you.

With the opportunity to go almost anywhere in Iceland we’ll encourage you to choose to explore less travelled and stunningly beautiful places. These may be more remote and beyond the regular round Iceland route, or simply somewhere that you’d like to linger or to visit when there is no one else around. Try west Iceland, the magical Snaefellsness peninsula and fjord lands, or North to the rugged Troll peninsula or along the North East coast to Arctic Henge, a remote gannet colony or to walk in the unique geological formations at Ásbyrgi.  Equally, perhaps we can inspire you to visit remote geothermal pools, artisan food or craft producers or small local museums.

By choosing a private tour of Iceland, you’ll want to be sure that you really benefit from the advantages of an itinerary uniquely tailored by us for you.  Attention to detail, to really understanding your preferences and tastes, and our knowledge and experience of Iceland are elements that we focus on to start the ball rolling. We plan with care and as much consultation with you as required to produce a detailed and personalised itinerary that will really work. Before you travel, you’ll receive all the information from us that you need, and so will your driver with whom we will have worked closely during the planning.  On arrival in Iceland you can expect that warmest of welcomes to start your holiday, and everything taken care of by your driver and by us throughout your stay.

We work with a very small number of tried and tested driver guides who also really enjoy working with us. Our feedback is exceptional and is the result of this close partnership and careful planning. Have fun, hear some unusual local stories, ask plenty of questions and really find out about life in Iceland now and in the past. Holidays like this also work very well for people who don’t want to climb in and out of buses or can’t walk for, or where there are family members from different generations who all need something a bit different!

“I am just back home again, and letting you know that despite the storm arriving, we had a great holiday, and even saw the Northern Lights last night! Our lovely driver was a huge help, and he even brought his daughter yesterday as a friend for my grand daughter! Thank you so much for your help, it was certainly a holiday to remember!”
