Summer

Summer

From June to August it’s summer in Iceland, with lush green landscapes, beautiful wildflowers and long hours of daylight. Puffins arrive to raise their young and Icelandic mares and foals graze in the fields. In Reykjavik, cafes are open late, and days are free for harbourside or city walks, boat trips, museums and galleries. It’s the world’s most northerly capital, a city with a great atmosphere.
The summer is also the time when the remote Highland interior and wilder back road corners of Iceland are ready to be explored and enjoyed as part of a self-drive or escorted summer holiday. It’s a perfect time and place for slow travel, to get off the beaten track for peace and relaxation, hiking, biking and of course for seeing waterfalls, glaciers and the geyser. See you there!
