This poem below was written by Jamie aged 10, who is very keen to see the Aurora and has been studying frozen landscapes at school.

He loves the time lapsed video below which inspired him.

The northern lights

The frozen snow,
Weakens my toe like ice.
I then look up,
To see if they have come, and then
See a bright green speck.

The shimmering green lights, tower above,
It’s nature’s firework show.
The Northern Lights slowly cross the sky,
Catching everyone’s eye.
As the green faded like sunlight
they slowly go away.

Oh I miss them, miss them so,
I wish they could come back
I am frozen in the snow.

As cold as I am, I slowly go inside,
waiting for the warmth to hit my body
Like hot chocolate.
