This tour covers the city’s main sights and provides an introduction to the history and culture of Iceland and its capital. It begins at Perlan (“the Pearl”), a glass-domed revolving restaurant perched atop glistening tanks which contain up to 24 million litres of water and cater for half of the city’s needs. Here, the 360-degree viewing platform provides some of the best views of Reykjavík and its surroundings. You are then taken to the seafront and the old Höfði building, followed by a visit to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church and a chance to explore the city centre around the Parliament building. You then head out to Laugardalur (“Hot-spring Valley”), the main area for sports and recreation in the capital and home to the city’s largest outdoor thermal swimming pool, a botanic garden and a small zoo.
