To delve into Iceland’s food and farming culture, travelling into the rural backwaters is well worth the journey.
Driving on remote roads and with the skills and knowledge of local guides, the West Iceland programme includes the southern coast of the beautiful Westfjords. We have included coastal food interests as well as visits to geothermal, dairy and mixed farm producers, together with tastings and gourmet specialities. Staying out of Reykjavik means that accommodation varies between hotels and more modest farm guesthouses, and will also include a boat trip. This is a food journey through some wonderful landscapes, a superb snapshot of Iceland’s best scenery with opportunities for photography (beyond the plate) and some optional walking too.
Reykjavik and South Iceland Culinary Special

During your time in Iceland, expect to enjoy some of South Iceland’s finest culinary treats.
From farm producers, home growers and small holders to Iceland’s finest restaurants learn about the development of this country’s intriguing food culture. The programme combines a mixture of guided visits and tastings, local must-do sightseeing and time to cook, dine and explore Reykjavik, from the comfort of a centrally located 4* Reykjavik hotel.
These holidays are organised for a group of 8 people so that we can visit our producers without overwhelming them, and to ensure that everyone in the group can enjoy the real peace and quiet of Iceland. To explore these rural areas, it’s necessary to have a driver and guide who can manage the terrain and add to the knowledge and understanding you’ll gain along the way.
