The Icelandic sea salt flakes contained in the new Iceland Traveller chocolate bar come from Breiðafjörður Bay, a beautiful and bio-diverse area lying between the Snaefellsness peninsula and the remote Westfjords of Iceland.  Since 1753, using sustainable geothermal energy, these crunchy flakes have been produced on the small island of Karlsay.  This unique tasting sea salt also contains naturally occurring potassium and magnesium, known to be good for the heart.

With our artisan chocolatier partner, Kokoh Chocolate, we’ve also prepared tasting notes.  “This delicious chocolate bar will appeal to all.  However, for real chocolate connoisseurs, you will be in for a special treat. The 70% Madagascan origin cocoa has a powerful taste and aroma. Exotic woods predominate: sandalwood and cedar of Lebanon. Then comes a positive bitterness. Let it melt slowly on the palette and experience a fruity heart of blueberry, with hints of liquorice and roasted coffee beans. The Icelandic salt flakes offer a sublime contrast to the fruit notes of this wonderfully dark Madagascan chocolate.”
