Still a few days left, and the Icelandic yuletide lads have nearly all arrived from their mountain hideouts to slam doors, steal sausages, gobble Skyr and lick bowls in the small towns, villages and in Reykjavik itself.  As soon as Christmas arrives, one of the mischievous group leaves each day until January 6th, the 13th day of Christmas in Iceland.

white-christmas iceland weatherEven with long hours of darkness, Iceland is bright with the twinkling of numerous fairy lights, it’s a magical location at this time of year. “And will there be snow?” we are asked by everyone contacting us to book a trip over the Christmas period. Just like seeing the Aurora, we can’t promise, but we have seen this on the Iceland weather website!

Winter holidays (with the possibility of snow and Aurora) carry on until March or April.
